About

For decades, people of Uttarakhand have been migrating to cities for better work and living opportunities. What gets left behind is the touch and experience of their culture and traditions which eventually created a large gap, a disconnect, especially with the newer generations, putting the years-old values at stake. The increasing influence of other cultures because of global content consumption in the state and the scarcity of quality artwork produced within the state worries many in the community about the possibility of extinction of Uttarakhand's own languages and culture. It's a common emotion shared by many and hence, they feel the need to reconnect and re-feel Uttarakhand.

To bridge this gap, Uttarakhand Film Company initiated an aspiring journey called 'Anubhuti Uttarakhand'.

Anubhuti Uttarakhand is World's first Film and Music concert tour which aims to spread the cultural wings of Uttarakhand across the globe so that it's people, wherever they are, can connect, relate and celebrate their art and culture, and share with the world. It also aims to promote the local artists and artisans of the state to global level where they can interact with the people through their art forms and help sustain the languages and traditions for the future.

The Movies

Sunpat

The first film ever from Uttarakhand to win Indian Panorama award at the International Film Festival of India, Sunpat is a reflection of a society that portrays the innocence of friendship, and subtly threads manifold issues like the undesired uncertainty of Uttarakhand villages and struggles of its people living in the mountains. A story of love and friendship blooming at a time of hopelessness, Sunpat received standing ovation in its Delhi release.

Pataal Tee

Pataal-Tee means "Holy Water", is a story of Fagnu who embarks on a journey in search of Holy Water which is believed to be in a land somewhere amidst myth and material after his grandfather falls ill. The film was officially selected in Busan International Short Film Festival and Moscow International Film Festival, both are amongst world`s highly acclaimed film festivals.

Pataal-Tee's sound has been designed by India's only Oscar winning sound designer Mr. Resul Pookutty, and editing was done by renowned film editor Ms. Sanyukta Kaza. Pataal-Tee became the second film from Uttarakhand to win Indian Panorama award at IFFI in 2022.

Anubhuti Uttarakhand is a space where artist from diverse fields showcase and interact with the audiences through their artwork. It helps in establishing their work amongst people and popularize their brand to earn a living.

Anubhuti Uttarakhand focuses on bringing the authentic flavour of Uttarakhand through it's various customs and traditions which can be experienced by the people at our events. This gives a first-hand experience of the traditional values to the newer generation.
